IIM SharePoint Sales Engineer

DocPoint Solutions is seeking an IIM SharePoint Sales Engineer with broad technological knowledge and the ability to speak to SharePoint solutions by mapping common customer business problems to end-to-end technology solutions.

Based out of San Diego, the IIM SharePoint Sales Engineer plays a pivotal role in the complete sales-solution lifecycle support including: presale efforts, assistance with responding to RFPs, designing/supporting solutions at a high level and envisioning follow up technical needs. The position requires excellent communication skills, being comfortable with public speaking/presentation sessions, the ability to work with strong sales team, developers, IT admins, Project Managers and SharePoint System Architects.

 

Duties include:

  • Coordinate Closely with Sales via the IIM Regional Professional Services Manager – Maintain a high degree of contact with other sales, operations and development teams. Responsible to align solution design with the customers’ technical and business requirements. Assist the Sales and Marketing team with showing value to help in closing sales, achieving established sales targets. Provide technical assistance, product education/training, and produce support material for the Professional Services team, as needed.
  • Client Requirements – Identify and build relationships with key customers and decision-makers. Review client requirements, articulate solution risks and barriers, recommend project approaches, assist in preparing time and cost estimates. Manage the customer relationship by communicating SharePoint architecture standards and frameworks, answering questions, and resolving concerns/issues.
  • Demonstrations and Proof-of-Concepts – Responsible for identifying customer needs, working with the Professional Services team to document solution requirements. Effectively work with IIM Sales Professionals to demo the solution or provide the proof-of-concept. Assist with functional design documents, translate the business requirements into system requirements at a high level, create a prototype of recommended solutions, demo to the users, and implement the solution. Discover and communicate alternatives for the proposed solutions and discuss or demonstrate other options per the client’s requirements. Persuade clients that a product or service will best satisfy their needs.
  • Technical Proposal / RFP Preparation – Responsible for assisting in the technical RFI/RFP process and the final response. Duties include pre-bid meetings, phone conferences, technical response, etc.
  • Pre-Implementation Activities – Responsible to participate in the final review of the Functional Requirements Document, comparing expectations to the proposed delivered results. Includes review of ROI and to assist in the development of the Case Study. Engage with the operations/implementation team to insure a smooth project transition and initiation.
  • Event Participation – Responsible for participating in the planning and execution of various marketing activities and/or events. Roles may include actively driving attendance, speaking engagements, technical presentations, demonstrating product capabilities and functions, and general networking activities.

Requirements:

  • Four- year college degree or satisfactory completion of a business curriculum from an accredited school and/ or equivalent work experience
