2015 not only marks a brand new year, but also a new era for Microsoft’s biennial SharePoint Conference. And, there’s good news and bad news. The bad news: Microsoft will no longer host this highly successful SharePoint event. The good news: Instead of hosting several platform-targeted conferences throughout the year, Microsoft will hold one large, unified enterprise technology conference – Microsoft Ignite 2015, to be held May 4-8, in Chicago.
According to the company’s blog, the decision to consolidate these events was based, in part, on feedback from past conference attendees who asked for more content and product team engagement across Microsoft versus just within one product area. Microsoft promises that Ignite will bring together the best of its previously individual events and then take it to the next level.
So, what does this mean for DocPoint, our partners and other Microsoft vendors? Of course, the conference will still offer SharePoint-specific sessions and opportunities, but now we will have the added benefit of immersing ourselves in the “big picture” of all Microsoft has to offer. Attending Ignite will provide us with clearer visibility into Microsoft’s vision and roadmap, a broader range of learning opportunities, and deeper interaction with industry experts and peers. As a result, we’ll be able to build stronger relationships with our partners and better serve our clients.
Stay tuned for more information on Microsoft Ignite– we are excited to be a part of this inaugural event! To learn more, visit http://ignite.microsoft.com/.
